So James Cameron’s mighty BlueManEpic™ swathes its way through all the competition, treating horror, comedy and drama with equally slaughterous disdain, like some villain from a Tolkien trilogy, somnambulating a path towards becoming Most Successful Movie Of All Time™, where, wielding the divine power of the TMs claimed after the fall of the King Of Pop™, Avatar will rule the world for all eternity and thus will begin an age where stuff is blue. Forever. And good luck to it, I guess. If only it were better…

Carl Sagan’s ‘Cosmos’ re-released on DVD…

The Cosmos is all that is, ever was, or ever will be… We are, all of us, made of star-stuff.

You cannot imagine the squeaky sound of delight that escaped from my being when I discovered that ‘Cosmos‘ had been re-released on DVD. No longer do I have to watch the first episode over and over on Google Video. Now I have no less than 13 hours of Sagan!

I cannot recommend this box set enough. Science at school was dull. They should have sat us down with some fizzy pop and uncle Carl. Admittedly, as teenagers we would have mocked the dated graphics and music, his voice, his corduroy suits but, dammit, we would have learnt something. His enthusiasm is infectious.
